Reheating Instructions

General Guidelines

  • Ensure Even Heating: Stir food halfway through reheating if using a microwave.
  • Check Temperature: Heat food to an internal temperature of 74°c
  • Avoid Overheating: Prevent drying out or burning by reheating food gently.

Reheating Methods

  • Microwave: Use microwave-safe containers / Cover food to retain moisture / Allow food to sit for a minute after heating
  • Oven: Preheat the oven to avoid long heating times / Use oven-safe containers / Cover food with foil if needed to prevent drying
  • Stovetop: Use a pan with a lid for best results / Heat on a medium heat to low heat, stir occasionally

Safety Tips & Storage Advice

  • Refrigerate leftovers within 2hours of cooking
  • Label containers with dates to keep track of freshness
  • Cross-Contamination - Use clean utensils and dishes
  • Keep frozen until ready to reheat. For best results, do not refreeze once defrosted

Traybakes – Defrosting Instructions (Optional for Faster Reheating)

If you'd prefer a shorter oven time or a gentler reheat, follow these defrosting steps before reheating:

In the Fridge (Recommended)

  • Remove your traybake from the freezer.
  • Place it in the fridge for 12–24 hours before reheating.
  • Keep it in the foil tray with the lid on while defrosting.
  • Once fully thawed, follow the regular reheating instructions – reduce oven time to 30–35 minutes at 170°C (fan).
  • Check temperature – the centre should reach at least 75°C.

⚠️ Do Not Defrost at Room Temperature. This can cause uneven thawing and increase the risk of foodborne illness. Always defrost in the fridge for safety.

Vacuum Bags – Reheating Stews, Curries and Sauces from Vacuum-Sealed Bags

Option 1: Reheat in the Bag (Boil-in-Bag Method)

From Frozen:

  • Do not pierce or open the bag.
  • Place the sealed bag in a saucepan of simmering water.
  • Heat gently for 25–30 minutes, or until piping hot.
  • Carefully remove the bag with tongs, cut open, and serve.

From Defrosted:

  • Defrost overnight in the fridge.
  • Simmer the sealed bag in hot water for 10–15 minutes.

✅ Best for preserving moisture and flavour, and no extra washing up!
